An eCommerce development solution that puts your shop on top.
Creating a website isn’t always just about making a site that looks good; sometimes you have products to sell and your site needs to be designed with that in mind.
That’s where an eCommerce site comes in.
Here at UKIE WEB, we’re eCommerce development experts.
We help you keep your eCommerce business solution ahead of the curve and capable of generating sales.
We have experience using several different eCommerce platform solutions, and we’ll always make sure that the platform you use is the one best suited to your business’s needs.
Some of the eCommerce solutions we use are Shopify, Magento, WooComerce, Prestashop, Opencart, and Bigcommerce.
But we’re also eCommerce site developers and can design something from scratch for you if these platforms don’t suit your business’s needs.
Choosing the right eCommerce platform for your business.
We are Shopify experts here at UKIE WEB, and it’s our eCommerce solution of choice.
We prefer Shopify because it does all of the eCommerce heavy-lifting for you, so you can focus on making and selling the best products possible.
Shopify is a hosted solution, so there are lots of security measures in place to keep you and your buyers protected.
Shopify’s features make all the nitty-gritty--and sometimes headache-inducing--payment systems streamlined for you.
Shopify also has several different theme options to best fit your business.
Shopify does more than just help to set you up with a pretty, working site.
It provides you with reliable and understandable analytics to learn more about the people visiting your business’s site and buying products.
Shopify also has some deluxe features, such as abandoned cart recovery, shipment tracking, professional reports, and gift card options.
Don’t worry if some of these features don’t seem necessary to your business;
Shopify comes in four different plans (in four different monthly prices) that feature different perks.
These plans allow you and your business the ability to better customize a Shopify account that suits your needs.
UKIE WEB plans on creating our own Shopify theme in the spring of 2016.
Magento is another eCommerce solution, but Magento doesn’t have hosting capabilities.
This means you will need to install the software and find a host.
There is a bit more maintenance work to do with a Magento store, but Magento is an open-source (AKA, free!) eCommerce solution.
So, if you don’t mind keeping up with making updates that are a bit more involved, you can save some money and go with Magento.
Magento also allows the creation of discount codes and coupons and will do the price change calculations for you.
Magento has many free theme options and even paid themes for Magento start as low as $1.
Multilingual capabilities are also built-in to Magento, which can widen your business’s customer base.
Similar to Magento, WooCommerce is an eCommerce solution that requires you to provide your own hosting method but is free to download and setup.
WooCommerce is a WordPress plug-in, so depending on your familiarity with WordPress, WooCommerce might be the right option for your business.
WooCommerce also gives you the option to start a blog that’s connected to your eCommerce site.
WooCommerce is also SEO friendly, which makes it easier for customers to find your site when looking for products.
PrestaShop gives lots of room for hosting customization for its users.
Prestashop users can choose to use the Prestashop Cloud for hosting, or download the set up for self-hosting. Choosing to host your business’s website yourself gives you the option to have greater control over the handling of your eCommerce site.
Using Prestashop is free, but add-ons from their Marketplace cost money.
OpenCart is also an open source eCommerce option, which means that it doesn’t cost anything to use, but requires users to have their own hosting solution.
OpenCart has multilingual capabilities, and there is a wide collection of different add-ons users can take advantage of to further customize their site. OpenCart also has good SEO, and users can manage two different eCommerce sites from one admin page.
Bigcommerce starts at $29.95 a month but works as a host for your eCommerce site, similarly to Shopify.
At the cheapest plan, Bigcommerce gives customers the ability to use gift cards, have real-time shipping information, and the option to give ratings and reviews for products.
Bigcommerce offers 16 free templates for your site, and 42 templates ranging from $129 to $250.
Bigcommerce Next also allows users to create a blog for their eCommerce site, which can allow for increased visibility and traffic.
A site that’s up-to-code and ready to go.
In addition to developing eCommerce experts, UKIE WEB will also make sure that your site complies with PCI guidelines.
PCI guidelines are in place to keep you and your customers safe. The guidelines are made up of 12 criteria for eCommerce site approval.
To host an eCommerce site, a dedicated IP address and an SSL certification for eCommerce safety are required.
(An SSL protected page always starts with https://.)
Here at UKIE WEB, we not only make sure that your site looks great, works great, and is PCI-approved; we make sure that your site will keep your business relevant and profitable.
